| Hi. I'm Roxy. I used to live in a pet shop with
my sisters and brothers until Catherine picked me to go and live
with her. She says she chose me because I didn't run away when
she put her hand in the cage, but climbed onto her hand instead.
She took me home and gave me a really BIG cage to live in - much
bigger than I was used to, and it has lots of places to climb,
things to play with, and a nice cosy house for me to make my nest
in. There used to be two other rats living here, Foster and Murphy,
but they got old and died, so now I've come to be Catherine's
                special friend. | |

              | There are lots of other animals here too -
Bounce the cat already knows her place : she kept following
me at first but when she got close enough, I reached out and
patted her face and now she runs away whenever she sees me!
The two dogs are a different matter : Scully is OK, she's a
mongrel and she sleeps in my room beside Catherine's bed, but
Beamer the Large Munsterlander licks her lips whenever she sees
me, and Catherine says she's Up To No Good. There is also a
big fish tank in the living room and I'm trying to work out
how to get in and go for a swim........as soon as I manage it,
I'll let you know!! At first I was an "Only Rat" and
was quite happy that way, because Catherine could play with
me whenever she was at home, and when she went out she took
me everywhere with her, in my own travelling basket - I even
have my own "cage-away-from-home" to live in when
we go to stay with friends. Now, however, Catherine is working hard at University a lot
of the time and her lecturers take a dim view of a rat in the
lecture theatres, so now I have a new friend come to live with
me to keep me company! Her name is Dewey and you can meet her
on her own page - click here to
                  meet my friend Dewey.
